One of the Greatest Battle on History of WPC. Roberto Gomez of the Philippines against Daryl Peach of England

ENGLAND'S Daryl Peach has become the 2007 World Pool Champion.
Peach, 35, defeated Filipino Roberto Gomez 17-15 in one of the best finals ever.
The match, at the Araneta Coliseum, Manila was full of twists and turns as both players had the lead.
But the decisive moment came in the 31st rack when Gomez missed a pot at the 9-ball, which may haunt him for the rest of his life.

Peach then held his nerve to take the last two racks and become the first ever English World Pool Champion.



BEATEN finalist Roberto Gomez was inconsolable after his defeat in the final of the 2007 Philippines World Pool Championship.
Gomez, 29, lost 17-15 to England's Daryl Peach in an incredible last match in front of a crowd of more than 3,000 people at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila.
The critical point in the match came in the 31st rack when Filipino Gomez failed to sink a crucial 9-ball that would have kept his hopes alive.

He did not get back to the table and was crying minutes later as Peach ran out the 32nd rack to clinch the victory, the trophy and the $100,000 top prize.

"I'm so depressed that I didn't take the crown and I lost the match," said Gomez, who had made history by becoming the first qualifier to play in a World Championship final. "I was almost there. I couldn't say anything at the end.


NEW World Champion Daryl Peach admitted that he had always dreamed of winning the biggest prize in the sport.
Peach, 35, lifted the trophy and claimed the $100,000 top prize after securing a 17-15 victory in one of the best finals of all time. He also becomes the first player from England to ever become the World Pool Champion after his memorable victory in front of more than 3,000 people at the Araneta Coliseum, Manila.

I couldn't believe on what was I watching yesterday at ESPN, the battle between these two newbie players in the world of WPC was really unpredictable. You can see the determination to win the championship Title on both of these player's. A lot of wise and genius shot was thrown on both sides Safety by Safety, Hide by Hide, even the Breaks was full of intensity

There was a lot of twist happened on this match. Because of the lengthy safety exchange both players committed lot of mistakes and errors during the match, and for that reason the nonstop battle of exchanging safety's made this clash to be 'One of the Greatest Battle in History of World Pool Championship.
